**Heterodoxy** refers to beliefs in disagreement
with those of an official position ([[orthodoxy]]).

at first the term has purely religious connotation,
however the article's later acknowledgement of
[heterodox economics](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heterodox_economics)
suggests the initial scope is too narrow.
