Applies to "Equipment intended to interrupt current".
nfpa-70_110_requirements#110.9 Interrupting Rating.
Maximum current that the equipment can interrupt without damage. Measured in amperes, usually shown as kAIC.
Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR)
- "withstand rating"
Applies to assemblies: distribution equipment like switchboards, panelboards, switches, etc.
Maximum current that the equipment can withstand in a short-circuit event without damage. Measured in amperes, usually shown as kA.
