Fire Alarm Wiring Methods

direction for fire-alarm-takeoff as confirmed by joel-jansen:

[!quote] Zane Meyers @ 09:35 to Joel Jansen via Teams regarding 1990-k-street From our Pre-Takeoff email:

Fire Alarm: Devices PVC in-slab, Risers EMT.

Still PVC for Retail shell and Amenity, Building areas with dropped ceilings?

Regarding Retail

[!quote] Joel Jansen @ ~10:00 (pp.) Use EMT for Retail shell spaces. Sometimes Free-Air may be acceptable, but assume not. Seek guidance where Retail space is significant.1

Regarding Amenity, Building

[!quote] Joel Jansen @ ~10:00 (pp.) Confirmed, follow Pre-Takeoff email.

In general, for pdi-building-types#High Rise projects, assume Free-Air devices will not be allowed in other than units-takeoff.

I expressed that, from a heuristics#Realism vs. Instrumentalism perspective, the ... DEVICES WITH WIRE - PVC assemblies are unsuitable for use in drop ceilings since they don't provide a flex whip and box.

[!quote] Joel Jansen @ ~10:00 (pp.) It is understood that the assemblies are not strictly suitable, their use is intended to be budgetary.
