1990 K Street Senior Review

Follow-up to 2026-03-20_13-44-59#2026-03-20 13:44:59.

Comments by joel-jansen relevant to my takeoff for 1990-k-street:

Lighting Control Assemblies

Relevant to lighting-controls-takeoff:

Lighting control assembly selection for the project was contentious because PDS excluded the system due to lack of information, but the drawings painted as exact a picture as one could ask for prior to construction.

Design shows digital control, dimming controlled by occ sensors in stairwells, corridors.
---E021 AUTOMATED LIGHTING CONTROL - SEQUENCES OF OPERATIONS

Proposal excludes digital lighting control due to lack of information.
---Proposal 2026-01-22, Pricing Alternates

Spec 260923 - LIGHTING CONTROL DEVICES
Spec 260936 - MODULAR DIMMING CONTROLS

In conversation with Joel, we agreed that I would use the "FBO" assemblies with the assumption that an LV system would be budgeted.

After direction I'm not clear on, Joel switched these to the device labor and material assemblies.

Feeder Schedule 5"C

Relevant to feeders-takeoff:

Feeder schedule calls for 5 inch conduit for certain tags which PDI's schedule uses 4 inch for. I did not respect this in the takeoff, Joel intends to substitute.

[2026-03-26 09:36] After conversation with Christian, Joel substituted all EMT feeders for MC cable. Christian stated that pdi-estimating#Bid Estimating would qualify the substitution in their next proposal and raised that 5 inch EMT does not exist in our database anyway1 .

  1. It doesn't exist at all. See nfpa-70_358_emt#358.20(B) Maximum.. ↩︎
