# Electrical Takeoff
> [!important]
> Complete [[pre-takeoff-research]],
> including [[wiring-method-selection]] and [[wiring-device-research]],
> before beginning takeoff.
> [!tip]
> Use [[heating-designations]] for uncertain scope.
## Garage
In conventional slab garages,
use ENT and PVC as permitted.
In precast slab garages, use EMT.
## Receptacles
> [!important]
> Receptacle symbols are not standard.
> Always check the electrical legend.
## Floor Boxes
`COMMON ASSEMBLIES`/`FLOOR BOXES`/...
### Poke-Thru's
Use suitable floor box assembly,
delete floor box items,
add `ITEM DATABASE`/`WIRING & SYSTEM DEVICES`/`FLOOR BOXES & FITTTINGS`/`GENERIC - FLOOR BOXES & ACCESS`/`POKE-THRU W/ DUPLEX RECEPTACLE`
## Homeruns
### Lighting Homeruns
* `Area` = "XX - Level XX Building"
* `Phase` = "Building - Back of House (BOH)"
Takeoff homeruns in Building breakdowns,
even where serving Amenity spaces.
## Mechanical Connections
### General
`COMMON ASSEMBLIES`/`MECHANICAL CONNECTIONS ...`/...
When using length-based assemblies use adders per [[feeders-takeoff]].
%% TODO
#### PVC Connection Assemblies
#### Flex
[[wiring-method-selection#Liquidtight Flex]]
%%
### Stair Pressurization Fans
Assume branch circuit conductors must be protected
per [[fire-resistive-wiring-methods-takeoff]].
### Roof Mounted Equipment
#### Unit Condensing Units
##### Homeruns
* `Area` = _Match unit_
.../`CONDENSOR HOME RUNS`
* **Horizontal:** Distance from load center to FCU.
(~50ft expected)[^1]
* **Vertical:** floor-to-floor distance from FCU to CU
[^1]: [[2026-05-04_14-57-49#Unit Condensing Units]]
| Level | Horizontal | Vertical | Length |
| :------- | ---------: | -------: | -----: |
| Level 01 | 150 | 40 | 190 |
| Level 02 | 150 | 30 | 180 |
| Level 03 | 150 | 20 | 170 |
| Level 04 | 150 | 10 | 160 |
##### Connections
* `Area` = _Match CU (usually roof)_
.../`CU CONDENSER SLEEVE W/ FLEX - NO HMRN WIRE`
`NO SLEEVE`:
Routed through a "doghouse"
(a large weatherproof opening)
with several other feeds.
Used where drilling openings for individual sleeves
would be impractical.
`PVC SLEEVE`, `EMT SLEEVE`:
Routed up through the roof,
(optionally through a disconnect)
with flex to the equipment.
#### Equipment Racks
Max 20 disconnects per rack
`DISTRIBUTION`/`TRAPEZE RACK SUPPORT ...`/...
## Trash Chute
1. **Horizontal:**
`COMMON ASSEMBLIES`/`MECHANICAL CONNECTIONS ...`/...
* **Length** = Length per drawings, 100ft if not shown.
2. **Vertical (Riser):**
* `Area` = "Typical - Building All Levels"
Takeoff: `COMMON ASSEMBLIES`/`MISC ASSEMBLIES`/`TRASH CHUTE RISER CIRCUIT...`
* **Length** = average floor to floor height
## Fire/Smoke Dampers
[[fire-alarm-takeoff#Fire/Smoke Dampers (FSD's)]]
## Clubline Raceway
[Raceway Systems - CRG](https://crg.us.com/products/raceway-systems/)
Clubline Raceway, also called CRG Raceway,
is a glorified cable management trough.
It is not a [[nfpa-70_376|wireway]],
so conductors must be run in a [[nfpa-70_national-electric-code#Chapter 3 Wiring Methods and Materials|Chapter 3]] wiring method.
Count receptacles normally,
using ==surface-mount EMT assemblies==.
Create a temporary item for the raceway itself.
